4.2 / 5 stars (42 reviews) - Not Remotely Tekkie, But I Will Tell You Why I Love This Laptop Review date: June 22, 2017 | Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 20FQ000QUS

You can read all about the specs on other reviews, from folks who know what they're talking about. So, I'm not gonna get technical, but I will tell you why I love this laptop. I tend to view laptop the way I view cars: More power is better. The faster they go, the better I like it. And this thing is fast. But, maybe not as fast as my Toshiba Qosmio. Like, half a heartbeat slower. Maybe. But, that machine weights ten pounds, when you factor in the power supply, so it never budges off my desk. This little beauty is a feather. And yet, it doesn't feel at all flimsy. When I hold it, I get the sense that it's ruggedly built. It has already survived one tumble off the bed, thanks to my two-year-old granddaughter. Still working on figuring out how best to utilize the pen, but that was a major selling point for me. I was astonished at how easily the program deciphered my scrawl--er, handwriting into text. The keyboard is phenomenal. I always bought Toshibas because, until now, I felt they offered the best, most responsive, easy-touch keyboard. And a back lit keyboard was a deal-breaker for me. When I decided to buy a smaller laptop, I was dismayed to see the review consensus that Toshiba's build quality had taken a nose-dive. I asked on FB for recommendations (I'm an author) and a serious number of professional writers recommended Lenovo, swearing I'd prefer this keyboard. They were right, although I had to type on it for a few days to adjust to the smaller keyboard. The touch is perfect. The little red dot thing? Where has it been all my life? Most. Useful. Thing. Ever. The color seems off in the green-yellow direction, and somewhat greyed out compared to what I'm used to, even after changing the color profile, but I do graphics on the Toshiba, so I'm not gonna complain about that. The ability to adjust from tablet to laptop to tent position just blows my mind. (yes, I am elderly, why do you ask? :p) I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of some of the Windows screens that pop up in tablet mode, but all in all, I'm very pleased with this laptop and look forward to enjoying my X1 for many years. |

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Review

4.5 / 5 stars - A great keyboard, colorful screen and epic endurance make Lenovo's X1 Yoga 2-in-1 a top choice for business users. Review date: June 23, 2017 | Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen

With a wide array of ports that includes two Thunderbolt 3 connectors, a snappy keyboard, colorful display and more than 12 hours of endurance, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga would make a great business laptop, even if it weren't a 2-in-1. When you consider its helpful stylus and innovative keyboard-retracting mechanism, Lenovo's laptop is even more compelling. If you're looking for an even-lighter 2-in-1, check out the 13-inch HP EliteBook x360, which weighs 0.4 pounds less, offers a faster SSD and has a unibody, aluminum chassis that many people will find more attractive. However, if you want a first-class business convertible with great portability, flexibility and endurance, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga should be at the top of your shopping list.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga review

4 / 5 stars - Lenovo’s work-obsessed 2-in-1 has the grunt and functionality serious users demand.Review date: March 30, 2016 | Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga

In the end, the verdict is what any ThinkPad fan might expect. The X1 Yoga’s strong performance, great keyboard, quality touchpad, and broad range of ports make it a great laptop for work. There are areas where competitors have the edge, such as display contrast ratio, but the X1 Yoga is one of the few 2-in-1 devices that can truly handle rigorous day-to-day use. There’s on final fact to note. Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Carbon is basically identical to the X1 Yoga, aside from the 360-degree hinge and lift-and-lock keyboard that makes the Yoga model unique. If you don’t care about tablet use, but you do like the idea of a powerful, thin, 14-inch system, going with the X1 Carbon will save you about $200. Whichever you choose, you’ll end up with a system built for serious productivity.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Review

4 / 5 stars - Editors' Choice Review date: March 10, 2016 | Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (1st Gen)

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is a sleek business 2-in-1 that will last a full workday whether you're banging out spreadsheets or drawing on the touch screen... The ThinkPad X1 Yoga is a versatile business 2-in-1 that will last all day and give you plenty of power to be productive. We particularly appreciate the WRITEit software and stylus that make Windows 10 more useful in tablet mode. If you want to save a little money, Lenovo's 12.5-inch ThinkPad Yoga 260 starts at just $989 and provides deeper key travel, but has a less colorful display and no 2560 x 1440. However, if you want the top-of-the-line business 2-in-1, the X1 Yoga is your best choice.
