Top Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th gen Review on Amazon

2.8 / 5 stars (8 reviews) - It's a very nice laptop, but it is two generations old Latest review: May 6, 2017 | Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th gen 20BTS1V900

This is a good business class laptop, but I'm not sure if the price is worth it even at the deal of the day. This is the third generation X1 Cabon and the fifth generation just came out. We got one of these third generation when it came out and thought it was nice but weren't completely impressed. To be selling a Window 8 laptop for 32% off of the retail price from 2 years ago seems a little high. At the same time, the specs are VERY nice. I'm not saying it's a bad value, I'm just not sure it's a great deal. (just to note, all the reviews on this product are from today because Amazon and Woot made a new product page today for this deal of the day)... It's a nice laptop. I think the deal of the day price is still a good value. But it's still $1150 for a Windows 8.1 laptop. Yes, you can still use the accessibility upgrade to upgrade it to 10. Being two generations behind doesn't mean as much as it used to when comparing speed and features. But I'm not excited by it.

Top Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 4 Review on Amazon

3.7 / 5 stars (19 reviews) - Excellent buy! Lightweight Latest review: May 27, 2017 | Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 4th Generation

Excellent buy! Lightweight, long-life battery, super screen (14" for a business laptop to travel with is a big plus), all functions super (incl. LTE SIM and micro-SD slots nicely hidden at the back). The only thing I am missing are 2 keys on the keyboard, but I guess I should have been more careful in configuring the product. Otherwise it's a great experience.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (5th Generation/2017) Review

4 / 5 stars Editors' Choice - Almost every aspect of this notebook proved to be first-rate in our testing, from its keyboard and touch pad/track point setup, to its IPS display, and even good port selection. Review date: April 19, 2017 | Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th gen

We knew the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon was winning material from the moment we started using it. Just about every aspect of this notebook is on point, and then some. It takes the hallmark features we expect from a ThinkPad, such as its excellent keyboard, touch pad, and pointing stick, and packs them inside a strong chassis just 0.6 inches thin. In addition, at a mere 2.5 pounds, this is one of the lightest notebooks you can buy... You’ll certainly pay the price for owning a notebook like this. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon starts at $1,329, with our middle-shelf review unit commanding $1,799. We configured a competing Dell Latitude 14 7000 (7480) for $1,569 with the same tier of specifications, and it also included a 3-year warranty, as opposed to the one-year on our Lenovo. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon has its advantages, including a slimmer and lighter design, and considerably longer battery life. But the high price doesn’t take away from the fact the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is an outstanding choice for a thin-and-light notebook that works well just about everywhere, whether you’re at home or in the office.
