4.4 / 5 stars (36 reviews) - Great combination of power and versatility Latest review: January 24, 2019 | Model: HP Elite x2 T8Z05UT#ABA
Although it felt a little awkward at first, the x2 has felt fine sitting in my lap and functioning as a true laptop. For times when I'm only browsing the web or otherwise consuming content, it's easy to pull the keyboard away and use only the touchscreen in Windows 10 Tablet Mode. I also wanted to dual-boot with Remix OS so that this could replace my Android tablet, but I encountered some difficulty getting it to boot. I settled on running Android in a VM with AMIDuOS, and it has been mostly a positive experience. There are a couple of games that will not run, but otherwise it handles all of my everyday tasks with ease. The touchscreen and accelerometer work just as they would if this were a native Android device, but running the emulator does have an adverse impact on battery life... Overall, I would highly recommend this device to anyone who values versatility in their computers/tablets. It really is a 3-in-1 to me, with the ability to run Windows 10 in Desktop mode, Windows 10 in Tablet mode, and Android in an emulator.

Review date: November 9, 2018 | Model: HP Elite x2 1013 G3
HP's Elite x2 1013 G3 is a portable and flexible 2-in-1 detachable. It's certainly a step up from its predecessor, packing in a larger screen, and its keyboard is very usable. The high-resolution screen on my review sample was a pleasure to work with, and didn't seem to cause excessive battery drain -- especially with the brightness turned down a notch or two. The preconfigured models offer a decent spread of CPU, RAM and SSD storage options, with useful extras like mobile broadband and the Sure View privacy screen also on offer. This is a well-designed and very usable tablet/laptop hybrid, although a top-end configuration will be expensive.
