First one failed about 40 days after receiving it. Amazon replaced that (even past the 30 day period) with a new one that has been so far working as it should. These are very nice and battery life is excellent. A student could carry one of these to class, use it all day without recharging most likely. Note that these use a micro-sd card for data storage (you can also use the Google Cloud). You can store pictures on the card (a 32 gig card is the size used) so there is actually a lot more capacity than what might be believed. Note that a Windows computer can "read" these cards so you could save the contents to the Windows computer if so wished.
