4.8 / 5 stars (5 reviews) - This Machine is Off the Charts
Latest review: April 3, 2019 | Model: Dell XPS 13 9380
I like everything about this machine. It is light, fast, solid construction and gorgeous. The 4K touch screen is well worth the money. I tried to configure a machine on Dell's website. For the same price, getting it on Amazon gave me the i7 and 16MB od RAM. Most amazing, I got it 2 weeks sooner than Dell estimated.

I was taking a risk, as I saw in one answer I saw there was a fingerprint reader. In fact, there IS a fingerprint reader for windows hello. The machine was exactly as desribed, brand new with factory sealed parts and plastic... Overall, couldn't be happier! Don't be scared by the few reviews, it's a great machine, battery works perfectly, hinges are very strong, and computer is in pristine, new condition.

The Dell XPS 2018 is a nice product, but does start to trade blows with Apple at this price range. Personally, I think its worth it, but if you aren't read to USB-C all your stuff or start living the #DongleLife, this may not be the one for you. Last year's XPS with similar specs is also well made, but has USB-A ports and is currently several hundred dollars cheaper for the same price. If you want the latest and greatest, or you are looking for eGPU gaming, this is the one. Dell gave this year's XPS the full 4 lanes of PCIe over thunderbolt, compared to just 2 lanes in last year's model.

If you want to save a few dollars and get a few more battery watt-hours (or need USB 3.0 ports), the XPS 13 9360 remains a first-class ultraportable buy. But it's only human to want the latest and greatest, and in the case of the 9370 there are other reasons as well—the even trimmer design, the cutting-edge Thunderbolt 3 ports, the dual Windows Hello options, and the fact that the gold-and-white unit is one of the best-looking laptops we've ever seen. If you want to stand out from the crowd, the newest XPS 13 is an easy Editors' Choice pick.

Tried and true, the XPS 13 is still a solid buy. It took a couple of years, but the laptop world finally caught up to Dell's cutting-edge XPS 13. HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft are falling over each other to one-up Dell and putting out remarkably nice computers. Truth be told, if you want a laptop that's thinner or a 2-in-1 design, there's an unprecedented amount of superb choices. Dell itself will be addressing these new competitors with the XPS 13 2-in-1. It's worth noting that the 2-in-1 version loses ports and power (Dell's opted for slightly slower Y-series Intel chips)... It might not be the laptop with all of the bells and whistles in 2017, but the XPS 13 still has the right blend of performance and portability to make it worth your money.

The Dell XPS 13 is an excellent ultraportable laptop, the best 13-inch Windows model going for many. Dell hasn’t aimed for a single superlative feature, a potential gimmick. Its footprint is smaller than the competition, but it’s thicker. Its screen resolution is excellent, but display colour is normal rather than super-saturated. There’s also a mix of old and new connections, and a combo of a large battery and smart power management means the Dell XPS 13 lasts significantly longer than most a lot of the time. The balance is just right - we'd spend our own money on it.

The latest version of the Dell XPS 13 continues to be a best-in-class laptop. It has a chassis that's smaller than the competition's, strong performance, and a great keyboard and touchpad. In the end, the XPS 13's biggest competition is itself. The quad-HD display on the touch-screen version is more colorful and vibrant, while the nontouch model lasts 4 hours longer on a charge. If you want the best ultraportable on the market, the XPS 13's combination of sparkling display, looks, performance, comfort and portability can't be beat.

The latest Dell XPS 13 Touch delivers the ideal combination of power and prestige, with a sturdy build, a gorgeous QHD+ touch screen, a speedy new processor, and USB-C port with Thunderbolt support... And consider it you should. The latest Dell XPS 13 Touch packs a sleek, stylish build, a drool-worthy screen, and performance to match its looks. Although there are more compact 11- and 12-inch ultraportables out there, they make concessions for their maller size, such as a lower-resolution screen, shorter battery life, fewer I/O ports, or a smaller keyboard. The XPS 13 Touch is only slightly larger, but retains a full roster of features. It's also lighter and slimmer than the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, and sports a sharper display and more storage for only $200 more. Thus, the Dell XPS 13 Touch is our Editors' Choice for high-end ultraportable laptops. If Windows isn't your OS of choice, however, then the 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro is a fine alternative.
