4.3 / 5 stars (5 reviews) - fast, compact, and should be reliable
Latest review: July 23, 2018 | Model: Dell OptiPlex 7450 73NM3
I've purchased and replaced many Dell computers at my business for over 15 years. My employees call me when things go wrong so simplicity and reliability are really important to me. I have found that I tend to replace our most heavily used pc's every 3 to 5 years. I am currently replacing our pc's with with these all-in-one Optiplex units with solid state drives, i7 processors and Windows 10 Pro. I have purchased four of these so far... Our employees love this computer. Switching from Windows 7 to 10 Pro has not been an issue. We're not a bunch of young techies (we have some old people, haha). With the ssd, I wouldn't be surprised if we have to replace our computers less often. It's true the ports in the back are not the easiest to get to. If you add a decent USB hub, you shouldn't have to go back there much anyways. I prefer the AUKEY Powered USB Hub, Aluminum 10 Port USB 3.0 Data Hub.

There's nothing fancy about Dell's OptiPlex 7440: it's a businesslike desktop PC designed for mainstream office workloads. It might lack the elegant design and graphics horsepower of some of its AIO rivals, but Dell's three-year warranty and the straightforward user upgrades and repair options will ensure that the OptiPlex 7440 gets the thumbs-up from many IT managers.

The Dell OptiPlex 24 Series All-In-One (7440) is a fine business all-in-one, and the first we've seen with a 4K display, which gives workers more screen space. It has a fast Intel Core i5 processor along with plenty of usable storage on a speedy SSD and enough I/O ports to meet all of your needs, and it performs work and multimedia tasks admirably. The $1,600 price tag is hefty, but all told, we think it's worth it. We recommend the Dell OptiPlex 7440 over the HP EliteOne 800 for its newer hardware and competent performance.

The Dell OptiPlex 24 7440’s beauty lies on the inside. Nothing about its design offends, but its staid, buttoned-up business demeanor makes it look like the office equipment that it is, a system from an earlier time... That’s what you’re paying for in the OptiPlex 7440—solutions to these business-specific concerns that carry extra value to some IT departments, plus easy interior access for component swap-outs and minor upgrades. As a result, you’ll want to make sure that in the OptiPlex, you’re not paying extra for packages and features that you won’t make use of. In terms of the hardware, you can get better values for the money—and way spiffier designs—than we saw in the $1,600-plus test unit we received. But if you need the manageability and the support fallback, you'll find this a solid-enough business PC that won't disappoint on the productivity front, even if it's as plain as AIOs come.
