3 / 5 stars (2.6 reviews) - Good little laptop for secondary use when not using the Mac.
Latest review: December 7, 2018 | Model: Dell Latitude 11 3189
It has everything I need (Windows 10 & Office). It’s only drawback is that it is really slow compared to the Mac.

The Dell Latitude 3189 2-in-1 laptop is built to take punishment, and that's its raison d'être. Its versatile screen caters to students working on individual and collaborative school projects, while its battery will last all day and then some. We prefer its long battery life and speedy SSD when compared with less-rugged laptops like the Dell Inspiron 3179. However, if durability and battery life are less of an issue for you (and you can stretch your budget a bit), the $799 Insprion 7378 is a better value overall, as it has a faster Core i5 processor, full HD screen, and has a larger-capacity SSD, and it holds on to its Editors' Choice for midrange convertible-hybrid laptops.

Dell delivers an 11.6-inch laptop that has primarily been made with schools in mind with its Latitude 11 3180. Thus, a robust plastic casing is used. The installed Apollo Lake processor has enough computing power for office and Internet applications. The laptop runs quietly and does not heat up excessively... Our review sample was priced at 489 Euros net (582 Euros gross, ~$524 / ~$624) in Dell's shop at test time - a lot of money for a simple office device. Thus, the laptop is not really an option for private customers.

Dell's Latitude 3150 is to be durable according to scholastic demands. However, some interesting features for the "normal" user were discovered in our test. Although the casing is exclusively made of plastic, the rubber rim defies some rougher bumps. Furthermore, the keyboard and trackpad are sealed against penetrating fluids. The Latitude does not have a maintenance cover, but the base tray can be easily removed, making it possible to access the largest part of the hardware. We only ascertained minor shortcomings in build regarding the display lid's stiffness and the gaps. The input devices are particularly important for office laptops. The review sample also convinced with its good keyboard here, although the trackpad could be a bit more accurate in use. After that, we looked at the screen which is ideally matte. The TN screen is very viewing-angle dependent even for its model type. In sum, the display is sufficient for office work. The high color shifts, the low contrast and the bluish cast prevent using it for professional graphics editing... Overall, Dell's combination of input devices, screen model, system performance and battery life is balanced. Thus, the Latitude 3150 is a decent workhorse for school, university and the workplace.
