Top Alienware Area-51 R7 Review on Amazon

3.6 / 5 stars (28 reviews) - Speed demon, high FPS

Latest review: March 24, 2019 | Model: Alienware Area-51 R7 AWAUR7-7066SLV-PUS

Nice speedy system. One quick setup piece of paper in shipping box. Passmark top 99% percentile in the world in default configuration, not overclocked. Overclock tools appear simple to use, although I have no plans of testing the overclock ability. Graphics are stunning, FPS remarkable. System is silent even with ear near the box, nothing to hear... I have only had system a couple days, but would buy it again.

Alienware Area-51 R5 (2018) Review: Liquid Cooled GPUs, Skylake-X Firepower

4 / 5 stars Recommended - The New, Fully Liquid Cooled Alienware Area-51 R5 - Locked And Loaded For Combat

Review date: June 22, 2018 | Model: Alienware Area-51 R5

The Area-51 R5 is everything we have come to expect from an Alienware flagship PC. The giant triad chassis, though now in its 5th incarnation, continues to house envy-inducing performance without breaking a sweat due to its well-planned, thermally-optimized design... There is no doubt about the Area-51's business roots under the surface either. The pedestrian internals share a lot of DNA with Dell's Optiplex line of business desktops. We're pretty fond of the chassis itself on the team here, but again for some it could be an acquired taste. However, it is a breeze to work inside the Area-51, and it can simply be tucked away under a larger desk space, if desired. Regardless, those willing to overlook a little vanity (or if you don't mind an edgy, striking design) will be treated to a mostly tool-less interior with pre-routed spare cabling and copious amounts of space. The Alienware Area-51 is a pleasure to use and is easy to recommend to anyone in the enthusiast gaming or content creation space with the budget for such a powerhouse.

Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition Review

3 / 5 stars - The latest machine from Dell’s high-end gaming brand is a beast.

Review date: June 1, 2018 | Model: Alienware Area-51 R7 Threadripper

The latest Alienware looks the part, but it’s disappointing in virtually every department. If you truly need a Threadripper CPU, you’d be better off shopping around.

4.5 / 5 stars - The otherwordly Area-51 R5 descended from the sky and annihilated our benchmarks

Review date: May 16, 2018 | Model: Alienware Area 51 R5

If you’re in the market for a desktop PC, and you need something with incredibly powerful hardware and a unique interior and exterior design, then you should absolutely buy the Alienware Area-51 R5. Even if you scale down the hardware to a configuration a little more reasonable for some mid-range gaming, the Area-51 R5 is a great choice. The design is definitely a little out there, but it grows on you, and it never feels like Alienware sacrificed function for form. The case is as striking as it is functional, and it would serve you well no matter what hardware you pack inside.

Alienware Area 51 (2018) Review: Serious Power for Serious Gamers

4 / 5 stars Editor's Choice - The Alienware Area 51 offers a huge, attractive design that supports Core i9 processors and up to two Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics cards.

Review date: May 12, 2018 | Model: Alienware Area 51 R5

The Area 51 continues to be one of the best high-end desktops you can buy. Its huge design is as attractive as it is ergonomic and practical, and its support for Intel Core i9 CPUs and dual Nvidia graphics cards makes it a monster for any kind of 4K and VR gaming. The slick, customizable LED backlighting certainly doesn't hurt either. If you don't need to configure a $5,000 gaming monster, the Alienware Aurora ($799 starting) packs some of the Area 51's best features into a cheaper and smaller design. Those with a taste for high-end PCs should also consider the Origin Millennium ($1,736 starting), which is far more customizable at the point of purchase with tons of different paint and component options. But if you're looking for a big, beastly gaming machine that can tear through any task you throw at it, you'll find lots to like about the Area 51.

Alienware Area 51 R2 Review

The Beast Has Arrived Review date: April 22, 2016 | Model: Alienware Area-51 R2

As for it's game performance it pretty much just bulldozes through everything I throw at it. Total War Rome II to name one, a game that even on some of the lowest settings the Acer was having a headache running it; the Area 51 just smoothly runs it maxed out on Extreme. This rig is ideal for 4K gaming and I'm thinking about getting a 4K monitor to take advantage of all the extra power I got, and the Oculus Rift I got ordered should work just fine too. This is by far the most badass PC I've ever personally used and I highly doubt I would have wound up with it in the first place if I didn't luck out in my searches. It's the total definition of overkill and it's expensive as hell to boot. You should honestly look elsewhere if you really REALLY want a new high powered gaming computer, namely in the custom build market, but if you can find one of these that's mathematically cheaper than a custom build priced out, it might be worth considering. It's a completely unnecessary, excessive, over the top piece of hardware, but holy shit is it something else. So long Acer, I won't miss you for long.

Review of the Alienware Area51 R2

5 / 5 stars - Editors' Choice Review date: March 8, 2016 | Model: Alienware Area-51 R2

Alienware has always been known to charge through the roof for their builds, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with this machine. Aside from the actual parts, factor in the electricity spent with the tools to build the machine (screw drivers and such) then to integrate it (Install Windows, Drivers and configure, even if it is automatically deployed) and the people you have to pay to build it and the 1-year Onsite and remote diagnosis included with the machine (you can pay additional for warranties up to 4 years) and phone support. You build it on your own and you have to deal with the individual part warranties, shipping costs, electrical costs, time and potential frustration. The frustration coming from trying to figure things out on your own or having to ask you supposed tech friend that seems to not know what the problem is aside from saying “It sounds like a virus” or “Why did you buy this, this is horrible let me sell you something better” or maybe joining some forums or facebook groups where no one knows anything, but swears they do and talk down to you... You know, when I started this review, I was sure I was going to bust this PC, either being too expensive for what you get, cheap looking and feeling case, bad build quality but honestly, I got nothing but an amazing machine. Hate me if you will, but I have to give this machine a 5 out of 5 Stars, Editors Choice for just blowing me away with just how good it is and for what you get, just how affordable it is. If you had the stigma that Alienware charged too much for what you get, times have changed my friend.
